I grew up in New York City and received my B.A. from Brooklyn College in 1990, and my Ph.D. in Social and Personality Psychology from the City University of New York Graduate School in 1995. I received my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Stetson University in 2000. I became a Certified Internal Family Systems Therapist in 2010.
I am currently a Professor of Psychology at Valencia College on the East Campus, where I have worked since 1999. Courses I have taught include General Psychology, Social Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Personality Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Human Sexuality, Psychology of Prejudice, Drugs and Addiction, Psychology of Women, and Psychology of Peace.
In addition to my passions for psychology, teaching and helping people, I am an avid butterfly gardener. I have a lifelong love of animals, reading mysteries, and traveling.
I am a member of The American Psychological Association and The American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and The Center for Self-Leadership. I adhere to the ethics and by-laws of these organizations: www.apa.org and www.aamft.org.
